Once done, the blade can be lifted and moved, where it is inserted into the saw’s main body. One should be careful when doing this, because it may require the assistance of another person to help support the arm.
There are some scroll saws which include a face mask that fits inside of the unit. This is an important safety feature and should be practiced when selecting a new machine. This face mask has a plastic seal which fits tightly over the mouth of the unit and protects the user’s mouth and throat from any piece of wood or material. This face mask is most effective at preventing dust from entering the air path, which may cause a fire. When shopping for a new machine, it’s a good idea to inquire about the types of dust prevention equipment which may be included. Failure to purchase a dust prevention mask could prove fatal in a situation where a wood operator doesn’t pay attention.
